John Rich to Release Solo Project on Warner Bros. Records
It was announced today that John Rich will release a solo project on Warner Bros. Records. Rich’s solo album will be released in 2008.
“If anyone knows me, they know I’m always writing music,” said Rich. “When we decided to take this year off so Kenny could focus on rehabilitation for a pre-existing injury, I asked Kenny if he was cool with me recording a solo project. I would only do this with Kenny’s blessing. So, this year you can expect a solo record from me, but Big & Rich will be back in 2009!”
John Rich scored his first number one record with the song “Come Cryin’ To Me.” Since then, he has made a name for himself as an artist in his own right, a producer, an award winning songwriter, and soon to be TV star for the new CMT reality series, “Gone Country.” He has sold over five million albums as part of the Multi-Platinum duo Big & Rich and garnered multiple Academy of Country Music, Country Music Association and Grammy Award nominations.
This Texas native has also been honing his songwriting skills for years. Rich’s writing credits include Academy of Country Music Award winning single of the year, “Redneck Woman,” along with Gretchen Wilson’s other two hits, “When I Think About Cheatin’” and “Here For The Party,” Faith Hill’s smash single “Mississippi Girl,” and Jason Aldean’s single “Hicktown.” In addition, he has written several other cuts for Hill, Martina McBride, Clay Walker, Aaron Tippin, Cowboy Troy, and Shannon Brown. Because of his contributions to the songwriting and music industry community, John was awarded the ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Award in 2005, 2006 and 2007. He is the only artist to receive the award three years consecutively.
2007 was a milestone year for Rich. In June 2007, John along with Big Kenny as Big & Rich, released their third album, Between Raising Hell And Amazing Grace, which went on to spawn the first number one single for the duo, “Lost In This Moment.” One month after Big & Rich’s new album release, John and Big Kenny received the President’s Award For Excellence in the Arts at the Opening Ceremonies of Vietnam Veterans of America’s 13th biennial National Convention in Springfield, Illinois. The award recognized their 2006 single, “8th Of November,” which was inspired by the duo’s close friend, Niles Harris, a Purple Heart veteran and member of the 173rd Airborne Brigade. The single, was a Top Ten hit in 2006.
Big & Rich’s current single, “Loud” is currently climbing up the charts.

John Rich Solo Album
So Glad to hear this news, about John's new solo project. I also can not wait till Kenny recovers from his past neck injury and can't wait to hear some new music from both of you and some more tours for next year. Awesome job, John on "Gone Country" and bringing out this new CD, cant wait for it to come out. *Don't forget about Kenny, now*

I just want to say how amazing John Rich is even though I am sure he heres this ALL the time.I feel I am a huge fan!
It is my dream to someday meet him.Its not that he is amazing and mystearous its just a goal I have in life!Not that he would want to meet little ole me but we can all dream!

Love John
I am glad to hear John is recording a solo album because I love his song writing ability and his voice. I have his cd 'Underneath the same moon' and love it. I am fearful though that this may be the last of Big and Rich and I love them together too. I still remember the first time I heard their cd 'Horse of a different color' and listened to the harmonies. I was blown away. I think that is what most of the Big and Rich fans love about you, is the sound you have and the music you write together. You guys are so good together! I only hope that Big Kenny recovers from his injuries from his car accident and gets better and you guys can record another album. I also want to see the two of you in concert again in 2009. I own every cd you have put out, including the 'Super Galatic Fan Pak' which has some great stuff on it and have read your book, which I loved.
In the meantime John, you can keep the fans going because you are great at everything you do. You have the 'midas touch right now. Just don't forget about your friend, Big Kenny.

concert in marion s.c.
my husband and i went to our first big &rich concert in may during bike-week in marion s.c.we both agreed it was the best ever concert we had been to.this two men are so nice and friendly.i can not wait for them to come back around this area or near where we live in the charlotte n.c.area.get well soon big the charlotte n.c. area is wating on another great concert.

I was at their show in Marion, SC. It was awesome!!!!! I hope they will come to NC!!!!! I met them in Nashville at the Music Festival and I am going back this year!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited! John is such and amazing artist...his album will be nothing but great! He is such a good guy and not to mention a cutie! Can't wait! Oh & I love "Gone Country" it just shows John doing what he loves to do.

I think that it will be awesome to here John solo. I am SOOO Impressed that John and Kenny have such a bond and a trust for each other that Kenny is comfortable to say "Yeah, go for it!" and still come back together and be a team!
