End Of The Quarter At Last...
well...here we are! the end of the quarter at long last. exams are all done and now i get to kick back and relax for the next 21 or so days. finals, as they always are, were a bitch, but i survived to rock another day. sight-singing, which has NEVER been a strong area for me, actually went over really well. i did perfectly on the rhythm and only messed up a little on the melodic part. harmony and theory could've gone better. i always think that i have that down, then i get grades back and see that i need to work harder or study more or something like that. ear training/dictation i have no idea about. i'm hoping i did alright...though that's always difficult. trying to remember rhythms AND melodies that are played on the piano rather quickly and then being required to write them down isn't as easy as it sounds. piano was awful. 'nuff said. we had a cafe where we all had to perform 2 songs. i did sam cooke's "little red rooster" and neil young's "old man". both went better than i thought they would, especially since i was the first person to go and was shaking like a leaf in a class 5 hurricane THE WHOLE TIME. i'm still not thrilled about going first, but at least i got it over with faster. and i figure, if there's gonna be a virgin sacrifice, why not me?
as we speak, i'm cleaning my apartment and am packing my suitcase so that i can leave tomorrow afternoon. i'm off to spend 10 days at home in STL (christmas included), then my parents and i are off to vegas to spend 2 or 3 days, then it's back here to los angeles to ring in 2008. man, we're actually almost at the end of 2007. that's crazy. i can't believe it was only 7 months ago that i graduated high school. it seems like so long ago...and in less than 6 months, i'll be 19...where does the time go?
well, that's all i have to report. i hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season and a very happy new year. my love to you all.
peace, love, and rock 'n' roll forever
